Xi'an Expo  2011

Xi'an is the home of the terracotta warriors and many ancient tombs.  The city itself has a population of 8 million. Within the city is the remains of a magnificent city wall roughly square and about 13 kms in length. It is a great ride around its top in the early evening.

The Taipei International Flora Expo 2010 concludes on 25 April 2011. It is a spectacular display that has been changed according to season. It is a magnificent success for Taipei City, Taiwan.

The Shanghai Expo 2010

Everyone is talking about the Expo in Shanghai. They have designed and constructed a magnificent wetland on the banks of the Hangpu River within the Expo.   These photos from the last few days Oct 2010

The Gardens of Suzhou

A short trip West by high speed train (max speed 330km/hr) and you are in the garden city of Suzhou.  Suzhou is called the Venice of the East with some of the oldest gardens in China. These were photographed in Nov 2010.

Moss Phlox in Hokkaido

Takinoue in Hokkaido, Japan is a special place if you are fond of Phlox Subulata (Moss Phlox). There are acres of hillside covered in phlox in full bloom at the right time of the year. This is how Takinoue looked in May 2010
