From the Chair
Another Annual General Meeting has been and gone, resulting in some new faces about the place. Thelma Mayze is now Secretary, Terry Fisher is Vice Chairman, and Frederick Lancaster is Treasurer. I wish them well, and I'm sure some assistance will be welcomed by these newly elected people.
As usual, we have got off to a busy start with a visit to the May's property in Tyers. This was a great day, hearing the history of the May farm and family. The excursion to Schwerkolt Cottage at Mitcham was enjoyed by all those who attended.
Over the past three meetings we have heard some interesting talks from our guest speakers: Frank Beer and his life with the Merchant Navy, John Power and his working life at the A.P.M., and Clarrie Heron on his adventures as a land surveyor.
This year sees 150 years of Government in Victoria and M.L.C. Peter Hall will host a dinner at Parliament House for T>D>H>S> members. We have 30 people attending thus far.
The Traralgon City Band will be celebrating 125 years of music in Traralgon and surrounding areas, a period over which they have won many awards.
My family and I would like to say thank you to all those who supported us on the loss of our Robena.
Till we meet again,
take care
Jim
