January 1933

Biggest New Year crowd ever in Franklin Street at midnight when the de-licensed Club Hotel caught fire, after closing only the night before.
  Thorpe McConville held his buck-jumping show in Ryan"s Paddock (Astrodome 1990, JWD), in January.
Tyers River farms were cleaned up by caterpillar plague on 5th January, with the river bank 12 inches deep.
Traralgon Band played at Cowwarr "Swing Bridge" on New Year's Day carnival.
First fishing rod licences were introduced in 1933

February   1933

Mr & Mrs McGartland took over Traralgon Hotel in February.

March   1933

Mr. Ernie Osborne took over hairdressers from Mr. J. Young, on 13th March.

April  1933

Delia McGauran presented a gift of a new organ to St Michael's Church 2nd April.
A grass fire nearly destroyed 'Hollydale" lived in by Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Rowley , 11th Apri1.

May  1933

3rd May, the site of the old Club Hotel was opened by Mr Rogers as the Big Market, every Wednesday.
Mr. P.T. Remington, Dentist, leased Mr. J. B. Robinson's house in Kay St., lst May. The Traralgon Band played at a dance in the Gormandale Hall on 4th May. Dr.Donald Pryde commenced practice in Traralgon in May. .

An Empire Day Concert was held in the Town Hall, 24th May.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack McGauran returned from Melbourne to reside at their old homestead "Hollydale".

June  1933

The Traralgon Imperial Football Club organised a huge parade and carnival on His Majesty's Birthday 5th June.

July  1933

Tenders were called for the new "Long Bridge", 3rd July.
The Herd Testers' Ball, 20th July, was attended by 800.

August   1933

September   1933

Mr. C.H. Welch, Jeweller, celebrated 25 years in Traralgon, 24th September, and St. Michael's celebrated its Jubilee, having opened on 23rd September, 1883. Prior to that Mass was celebrated in the old Court House. The Church site was bought in 1877, from Kay St, to Seymour St., for £15
Mr. C.R.Lewis, Jeweller, opened in September.

October  1933

Mr. Seth Plant disposed of his bakery business in the central block (lst October) after 8 years, to Mr. T.B. Collins.
5th October saw the official opening of the new Traralgon South Hall, built by D. & W. MacCubbin. The first hall opened in about 1880.
Draught Ballarat Beer was obtainable at the Grand Junction Hotel in October, and on 19th October, Mr. D.J. Walker purchased a house in Hotham Street and began the "Burnside Dairy".
The Callignee South School was mentioned as being shifted by bullock team from the Holey Plains. It was 49 years old.

November 1933

Phelan's "Crown Hotel" was rebuilt in November. .
Tennis shorts were seen on the court for the first time - why not!  footballers wear them!

December   1933

Constable Poulter built a new home in December in an excavated portion of the south-east corner of Breed and Seymour Streets.
